Not children....but the photo block.
I did do a little bit of painting last night....but honestly I might as well have been finger painting because I ended up with paint everywhere. Including inside one nostril. Yep. Apparently it was on my rubber glove and I scratched my nose....not picked....just a wiggly scratch. And oil based paint ended up in my nostril.....and all across the end of my nose. For those of you who deal with oil based paint, you know that it takes mineral spirits, paint thinner or fingernail polish remover to get it off your skin. So there was a moment in time last night, I thought I might be doing some major damage to my brain.....by cleaning the end of my nose with mineral spirits. But how would any of us really know if I damaged my brain? Any further?
Anyway, until the painting is finished I thought I would at least let you all have a peek at Chuck's part. When it's all caulked, sanded and painted I am going to show a BEFORE and AFTER. Below is a big fat IN THE MIDDLE.
Newly hung beadboard and molding and baseboard and door frame.
The new old door waiting to be sanded....but not painted.
I am leaving it looking old and beat up.
Old is the new new.
And yes, the door knob is rather low. Chuck had to cut off about 4 inches from the bottom of the door for it to fit. Let's just say it will be the perfect height for my grandchildren.
i would like to see it in person please.
ReplyDeleteor see y'all in person.
come visit already.
Oh! It's gonna be mighty purdy! Can't wait to see it all done and I LOVE that old new door!
ReplyDeleteI love the old door! I could do that coming into our study! I'm adding it to my list of things you've done that I want to copy.
ReplyDeleteLove the project. You crack me up with the doorknob! Who uses them anyway? Have a good week ahead.
