Fuh reez n

If you are from a northern state, you will think this is absolutely ridiculous....but it snowed in Houston, Texas, today and the natives went nuts. Houston, Texas, where we say "I'm fureez'n to death" if the temperature drops below 65'. We can't help it.

The snow had been predicted and you could feel the frenzy beginning Tuesday. There was a lot of prayer in school this week....prayers for a snow day. Because we all wanted to stay home in our flannel pajamas (that we can't usually wear because we get so dang hot in them) and drink some hot chocolate (that we never make because iced tea just sounds better) by the fire
(that we usually only burn for "looks.").

But while it didn't snow enough to close the schools, it did snow enough to make us all giddy. And we did what all Houstonians did today. We stepped out in it and relished this rare, rare occasion.

I grabbed my camera so you could see the snowman the children built.

You have to believe me. There really were snow flurries. Really.

To all of you who deal with snow on a daily basis. You win. I don't know how you do it. Just getting one class to grab their coats so we could go outside to see the snow was exhausting. No one could zip their own coat....and a couple of them even had their coat on inside out or upside down (yes, they did). And you know they didn't have hats and gloves and snow boots. It took a good 10 to 15 minutes to get them all bundled up and another 5 minutes to quiet them down from all the squealing they were doing. I can't imagine doing that at least 3 times a day for months.

But happy? Yep. We were all happy. And tonite....flannel pajamas, chili for supper and a fire going.
