I finished all 8 of my artist's swaps for Silver Bella! That means nothing to most of you but it means a lot to the Silver Bellas and my family. I can now put away the glue and vacuum the glitter and meet my swap partners as I hand over their stash this coming Thursday evening in Omaha, Nebraska.
The number 8 doesn't sound like a big number but that is only the number of the swaps. Six of the swaps had anywhere from 10 to 25 participants in them. Two of the swaps were only between myself and one other Bella. So if you do the math correctly, it was about 1000 things I had to make. But I'm not complaining because it was fun, fun, fun. And when I get to Omaha, I will be showered with stuff from all my swap partners. My co-worker asked me what I was going to do with all of this stuff....and I told her she would be getting some of it for Christmas if she's lucky.
There was a substitute in kinder the other day and she is the one who will be filling in for me while I'm away. When I explained where I was going, she seemed very confused. When I told her that Mary Engelbreit would be the guest speaker at the luncheon on Saturday......she asked who that was. (Hum, she would make a great wife for Chuck.) Like how could you not know who Mary Engelbreit was? But then another co-worker didn't know either......the same co-worker who knows every word to most every rap song and when I hear her sing them, I wonder where the heck I've been hiding. So if that doesn't say "whatever floats your boat"...I don't know what does.

ReplyDeleteI did the same...finished up the swaps then had to vacumn the glitter...at my husband's request! He suggested working with glitter OUTSIDE from now on!
I'm with you...doesn't EVERYONE know who Mary Engelbreit is????
